Holy Mountain & Cloudburst Brewing // Wetwired Mosaic Fresh Hop IPA // Seattle, WA // 6.5% ABV
It's fresh hop season which means hop harvest, heavenly aromas, and an abundance of local hoppy ales. And to see my two favorite Seattle breweries come together to produce a fresh hop IPA is a sweetbitter dream come true. 24 lbs of wet mosaic hops and over a year later, the fruits of hard labor and collaboration have ripened.
Color: Hazy, toasted mash
Smell: Fresh hopped tropical fruit, with essence of mango and papaya
Taste: An explosion of juicy fruit with a thick mouthfeel that's brought back down to earth with grainy malt and a fresh rain on harvested hops. While each of the sensations are bold, each sip is directed with purposed.
Overall: To see an IPA on draft at Holy Mountain for one, is a shocker. But the formulaic bursts of flavor that Cloudburst has mastered with the craft finesse of Holy Mountain brewing, orchestrates a chorus of true Pacific Northwest fresh hop spirit. It's an irresistible combination of a young strain of hops with the new generation of Seattle brewing.
