Bridgeport Brewing // Fresh Hop Red IPA // Portland, OR // 7% ABV 60 IBU
Hop harvest is the seasonal occasion for brewers and beer lovers alike. And Pacific Northwest is best in climate and farming to deliver some of the best fresh hopped beers. By collaborating with Crosby Hop Farm in Woodburn, Bridgeport Brewing takes the concept of "fresh" to a new level. The Amarillo hops are transported to the brewery in less than an hour after harvested.
Color: Amber, tree bark brown.
Smell: Grassy, turned soil, flowers fading, and fruit dropping from trees.
Taste: Smooth red malt, grassy hops, peppery spice.
Overall: The fresh hop wrapped in roasted red malt is like a Halloween green apple dipped in caramel. Bitter and sweet, it reflects the best parts of the season. It's a warm blanket on a rainy day with the sensory freshness expected from harvest time.
